home!

It's so nice to be home. My least favorite part of traveling is leaving this little guy behind:

fashion cats

Is it just me, or are more and more editorials featuring models with cats?

I really want to get a leash for Spot.

P.S. The kitten above is Karl Lagerfeld's Choupette.

shoe cat

My sweet kitten. He loves shoes even more than I do.

coming home

We've been out of town for a few days- it was a busy, beautiful trip. I am usually always ready to go home, a little less so in Manhattan, but I still get so excited on the plane ride home. There's a little feeling of starting over, turning your vacation into real life, detoxing a bit after eating only out. I wind up writing a list of a few things I want to do when I get home, some things are always on the list and I never get around to doing them: go to a yoga class, go to the farmer's market, go to the museum, go to the gym. My tiny, tiny goal is to do one of them in the next 7 days.

And now I'll leave you with more models with kittens, because, that is awesome:

awesome cat beds

Searching for a modern cat bed to replace the beige carpet covered trees we have, there are a lot of high-priced options and some great inspiration for DIY projects...

cat and mouse

Spot has been rediscovering his old toys, like this little gray mouse with pink ears.

cat condos

This is our second carpeted cat tree:

Seriously, these things are so ugly and they are taking over the apartment. I really wish we didn't have them, but our cat loves them so! He spends at least 75% of his time sleeping or playing in his tree houses.

blue moon

Would rather lie down in a beer box than a cat bed.

our roommate

Husband mentioned yesterday that it seems like we share this apartment with our cat, but live completely independent lives, and it is so true. He is still so wild. He visits us, but then spends the rest of the day doing his own thing.

kit cat

Um, I know this may not seem like a big deal, but it is. We agreed long ago to no pets, in fact my exact words were: If I ever ask if we can have a kitten or a puppy, promise you will say no, no matter what. We keep life as simple as possible with as little responsibility as possible and as few ties. But this little (big) fellow crawled up into our laps and lives.

And I am very happy about it (so far). All he does is sleep (a lot) and chase little balls (sometimes) and he does let out a few cries in the middle of the night every night (less and less), but he is really nice to have around.
