Let's talk about how I've always hated the idea of grilling. It seems like such a macho thing to do, but the thing is, it doesn't have to be all hamburgers and sausage.
You can grill anything (literally, truly, our neighbor grilled a frozed Red Baron pepperoni pizza last weekend). You can grill mushrooms and asparagus and zucchini and pork and fish and chicken breasts and perfect little steaks. And it's so easy. And everything tastes so good. And there are no pots and pans and stoves to clean (and no ovens to forget to turn off).
We went to the meat counter together and picked some things with a plan to grill every day this week.
But then the rain came. I cooked the duck breasts and baby carrots inside in a pan instead, and they still came out super good.
Snapped a picture of my seven-layer bars too. They have become my bbq potluck staple. If you haven't tried them, don't! They are too good to not eat and too easy to not make.
